Dr. Shipman

Dr. Shipman believes that he is privileged to be in a position where he gets to serve patients every day in order to improve their dental health and overall well-being. He takes this responsibility very seriously, which is why he puts so much effort into providing excellent clinical care as well as a warm and friendly environment.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

From a young age, health and science were always intriguing to Dr. Shipman. He says that his mother, a nurse, inspired his interest in health, and his dad, a teacher/coach, taught him to enjoy learning and challenging himself. Ultimately, he wanted a career that would combine all of these passions and would force him to constantly evolve and improve, and for him, dentistry sounded like the perfect fit.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

After graduating from the University of Texas at Tyler, Dr. Shipman received his DDS degree from the Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry. Since then, he has completed many hours of additional training and continuing education focused on subjects such as cosmetic dentistry, endodontics (root canals), extractions, Invisalign, sedation, emergency dentistry, and leadership.

On top of this, he maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the East Texas Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Life is nice and busy at home for Dr. Shipman and his wife, Alina, thanks to their four children: Adrian, Isaiah, Adelaide, and Zachary. Staying active is very important to Dr. Shipman, which is why his weekly routine consists of lifting weights, running, and playing sports (specifically, he plays competitive flag football). He also prays daily and is very active in his church.
