Answering Common Questions About Dentistry

If you’re ever unclear about anything regarding your or a family member’s dental care, you’re always welcome to call our Lake View Dental Center team and ask! We’ll be happy to address your concerns and clear things up in a judgment-free manner. Before that, we invite you to take a moment and read the answers to some of our most frequently asked dental questions.

Does your dental practice see children?

Yes, Lake View Dental Center loves treating patients of all ages, including kids! By bringing your child in for regular visits from an early age, you can help them enjoy a healthier smile later in life by creating a positive association with dental care. Plus, our dentists can monitor your little one’s oral development as treat any concerns in their early stages.

How often should I visit a dentist?

The average person – no matter how old they are – should see a dentist every six months, or twice a year, for a checkup and cleaning. Even if your teeth and gums aren’t bothering you, there’s always the chance that an oral health problem could be developing under the surface. Routine checkups let us catch and treat them before serious damage is done.

I have dental anxiety. Can you help?

We understand that many patients feel nervous or anxious at the idea of seeing a dentist. In addition to our soothing office and our team members’ calm demeanors, we offer sedation to ensure your comfort during your visit. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral conscious sedation dull your senses and help you relax enough to make getting the care you need a breeze.

What's the best way to replace my missing teeth?

It depends on your specific oral health needs, as well as how many teeth you’re missing. However, our dentists typically recommend dental implants for patients who are looking to replace lost teeth. They’re built just like natural pearly whites, so they can stay in place for 30+ years while looking and feeling incredibly lifelike.

Is it possible to straighten my teeth without braces?

These days, it’s possible for teenagers and adults to fix crooked teeth without cumbersome metal braces thanks to Invisalign clear aligners. These transparent plastic trays fit comfortably over your teeth, comfortably repositioning them while being barely noticeable to the people around you.

Will you accept my dental insurance?

Most likely! We accept a long list of popular PPO dental insurance plans, so you can count on being able to use your benefits to the max when you visit Lake View Dental Center. Our team can even handle the process of filing your claims on your behalf to help you avoid the stress of added paperwork and ensure you’re making the most of your coverage.

I don't have dental insurance. How else can I make my care affordable?

As an alternative to regular insurance, we offer an in-house dental membership plan that gives you many of the same benefits for (in most cases) a lower price. Not only is your routine care covered, but many of our other services are significantly discounted, and you won’t have to deal with the confusing limitations of insurance. Just sign up and start saving!
